Patricia Rodgers

Patricia Rodgers, 85, of Ellwood City, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday morning, June 16, 2013 at the Forbes Regional Hospice at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born in Ellwood City on September 28, 1927 to the late Edward W. “Ted” O’Hara and the late Catherine O’Malley O’Hara.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1945, and worked for a time at Aetna-Standard Engineering in Ellwood. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City and was formerly a member of Christian Mothers. Pat enjoyed sewing, reading, and most importantly, her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, and two daughters and sons-in-law: Eric J. (and Lisa) Rodgers of New Castle; Amy (and Larry) Santillo of Ellwood City; and Cynthia (and Michael) Fallin of Lewisport, KY. Nine grandchildren also survive, Ashleigh (and John) Young, Courtney and Mackenzie Santillo, Amanda, Jay (and Allison), and Tyler Fallin, and Shelby, Adrianna, and Cheyanne Rodgers; as well as two brothers, Dr. Edward (and Barbara) O’Hara of Dunedin, FL and Lt. Col. Donald O’Hara of Haymarket, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Jay L. Rodgers, who died October 26, 1988.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Holy Redeemer Parish Church, 415 Fourth Street, Ellwood City.

Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Parish Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.

Memorial donations may be made, in Pat’s name, to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
