Evan L. "Ed" DiFrischia

Evan L. “Ed” DiFrischia, 76, of 609 Hogue Road, Ellwood City, (Slippery Rock Twp.) died at his residence on Tuesday evening, June 16 2009.

He was born in Fombell PA on May 8 1933 to the late Domenico and Margaret Williams DiFrischia.

He attended Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, and he served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean War.

He owned and operated DeWit’s Service on the Ellwood-Portersville Road. He also had coached Laurel Girls Slow-Pitch Softball.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Dee Falen DiFrischia, whom he married November 14 1958.

He is also survived by three daughters and one son: Dana DiFrischia of Zelienople; Scott DiFrischia of New Castle; Kellie DiFrischia of Worthington OH; and Lara DiFrischia of Ellwood City.

Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers: Dot (and Gil) McQuiston of Tucson AZ; Peg Witte of Danville KY; Don (and Dorothy) DiFrischia of New Castle; and Joe (and Mary) DiFrischia of Beaver Falls PA.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers: Jean Bellian, Virginia Daufen, Vivian Strohecker; Albert DiFrischia, and Richard DiFrischia.

Friends may call from 12 PM (Noon)-2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 19 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, Ellwood City. Services will be conducted at TURNERS on Friday, June 19 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Bruce Gardner of Berean Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Southern Care Hospice.
