Dorothy Mae Tritt

Dorothy Mae Harper Tritt, 87, of Enon Valley PA, formerly of Ellwood City, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, October 5, 2012 at the home of her daughter.

Born on November 19 1924 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Joyce Harper, she was married for 49 years to the late Rev. Kenneth D. Tritt, who died June 24, 1991.

Dorothy was a pastor’s wife at the Immanuel Church on Wises Grove Road, New Brighton, where her husband had pastored for 24 years. She was active in the Ladies Missionary Group at Immanuel Church. She later was an active member of the Dorcas Society at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Ellport, and currently attended Portersville Bible Church. She also enjoyed fellowship with her friends at the Over 55 Luncheons at Lillyville Church of God.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Harper, and a sister, Emma Harper Hockenberry.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Sharen (and Lynn) Weyman; Pam (and Dave) Hallberg; Kim (and Mike) Kennedy; and Tammy (and Brian) Upton. Seven grandchildren also survive: Emily Hallberg (and Nathaniel) Flatt; Laurie Hallberg; Erin Kennedy (and Dan) Frankel; Jessica Kennedy (and Matthew) Bergfelt; Zachary Kennedy; Nicholas Upton; and Allison Upton. She also had two great grandchildren, Isaiah and Judah Flatt. Several other close friends and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She is sadly missed here, but she is in the presence of her precious Savior and reunited with loved ones who have gone before.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth Street, Ellwood City. Friends may also call from 10-11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Portersville Bible Church, on Rte. 488 near I-79.

Services will be conducted at the Church at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 with Rev. Michael Charles of the Portersville Bible Church and her nephew, Rev. James Hockenberry of Harmony Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Beaver Falls.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Portersville Bible Church or to The Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County.
