John Shenesky

John Shenesky, 89, of Ellwood City, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011 in the Mary Evans Extended Care Center of the Ellwood City Hospital following a short illness.

He was born in Koppel on May 9, 1921 to the late Michael and Sophie Shenesky. He worked at Armstrong World Industries in Beaver Falls as a tile spray paint operator for 41 years and was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Tina Lasso Shenesky, who passed away November 1, 2005. The last of his family, he was also preceded by four brothers and six sisters: Michael, William “Booty,” Ted “Frank,” and George Shenesky, Helen Clerici, Susan Mahon, Katherine Hanna, Ann McCullough, Rose Goddard, and Marilyn Shenesky.

He is survived by two sons, Ted (and Donna) Shenesky of Columbus, OH and James Shenesky of Ellwood City, a grandson, Chris (and Ginifer) Shenesky, and two great-grandsons, Chris Shenesky, Jr. and Aiden Shenesky.

Friends will be received from 7-9 P.M. Sunday, May 8, 2011 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 A.M. on Monday, May 9, 2011 in Holy Redeemer Parish Church, 415 Fourth Street, Ellwood City. Those attending the mass are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 as the procession to the church will begin to leave at 9:30.

Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Parish Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.
