E. Delores Vogler

E. Delores Vogler, 84, of 429 Nicholson Avenue, Ellwood City, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, April 25, 2011 in the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford.

She was born in Castlewood on September 25, 1926 to the late Wilbert Jessop and Ethel Kennedy Jessop. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in the class of 1944. She worked as a fingerprinting technician for the FBI in Washington, DC during WWII. She also worked at the Ellwood City Knitting M ill and as a caregiver for many homebound people.

She was a member of Park Alliance Church (formerly Christian and Missionary Alliance) where she was a member of the Married Couples Class. She was also a lifetime member of the Hazeldell WCTU and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing, fashioning clothing for her daughters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Wilbur W. “Bill” Vogler, whom she married March 15, 1946 and who passed away February 20, 2002.

She was also preceded by her brother, Ray Jessop.

She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (and Jerry) Franus, Maureen (and Lynn) Smilek, and Susan Vogler, all of Ellwood City. Three grandchildren, Sheri (and Bill) Maine and Brooke and Blake (and Mira) Franus, as well as four great grandchildren, Meghan, Billy, and Natalie Maine and Korynn Franus, also survive, as well as a brother and two sisters: P. DuWayne (and Dottie) Jessop of Florida, Naomi McCoy of Kittanning, and Eleanor (and Bill) Orr of Ellwood City, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Services will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Park Alliance Church, 701 Jefferson Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117 with Rev. John McCready, her pastor, and Rev. John Cruikshank of Uniontown officiating.

Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Church Cemetery, Wayne Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Delores’ name, to the Park Alliance Church.
