Edyth M. Kaufman, 89, of Luther Court at The Passavant, Zelienople, formerly of North Tower Road, Fombell, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, July 14 2010.
She was born in the Riverview area of North Sewickley Twp., Beaver County, on July 1 1921 to the late John M. and Ellen V. Dunbar McDonald.
She was an active member for 70 years of North Sewickley Presbyterian Church, held many offices, was on Session and was a deacon, and belonged to the Bible Study group at The Passavant.
Edyth was currently working on a book about her family history.
She was preceded, in addition to her parents, by her husband, William H. Kaufman, who died November 16 1994. They were married Nov. 2 1940. She was also preceded by a granddaughter, Ellen Mayberry, and one sister, Dolores Duncan.
She is survived by one son, two daughters and sons-in-law: Donald W. Kaufman of Ocala Florida; Eileen V. (and William) Mayberry of New Castle PA; and Lynne (and David) Ellison of Bridgeport Ohio.
Twelve grandchildren survive, and nineteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren as well as one brother, Charles McDonald of Ellwood City.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday , July 18 2010 in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME OF ELLWOOD CITY, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 A. M. on Monday, July 19, at TURNERS, with her pastor, the Rev. Don Aull, of North Sewickley Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Zelienople (English Lutheran) Cemetery.
