William L. Wilson

William L. Wilson, 86, of 801 Skyline Drive, Ellwood City, died on Saturday evening, May 1, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Butler.

He was born in Ellwood City on October 29, 1923 to the late Raymond R. Wilson and the late Edna S. Burns Wilson.

He graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1941 and went on to graduate from the Garfield Business College in Beaver Falls. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and had retired from Aetna-Standard Engineering Company.

William served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre, and also the Korean War.

He was a member of F.&A.M. #599 Ellwood Lodge, the Valley of New Castle Consistory, the American Legion #157, VFW Post #252, and B.P.O.E. #1356.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret D. Hawke Wilson, whom he married on September 22, 1950.

He is also survived by two sons and a daughter, Raymond R. Wilson, Paul D. (and Wendy) Wilson, and Patricia Aumiller, all of Cranberry Township.

Three granddaughters also survive: Connie Aumiller of Redondo Beach, CA, Margi Aumiller of Cranberry Township, and Rachel (and Jesse) Mahosky of New Castle, as well as a sister, Loretta Marsh of Beaver.

Private services will be conducted at the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Avenue.

Interment will take place in Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.
