William “Bill” Harley, 84, of Fombell passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at his home. He was the son of the late Clyde and Clara Jane (Mountain) Harley and was born July 6, 1941, in Sewickley.
He is survived by the love of his life, Sara “Sally” Harley, his children; Warren Harley and his wife Stacy of Goodyear, AZ, Diane Lechner and her husband Gregg of Ellwood City, his grandchildren; Kim, Erin, and Mason Lechner, Alex Harley, his siblings; Shirley Springer, Betty Shafran, Dennis Harley and his wife Roseann.
Bill was a 1959 graduate of Hopewell High School. Following his graduation, he attended California University of Pennsylvania where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Arts Education.
While Attending California, he met Sara “Sally” Luckey and they were married 62 years upon his death. He and Sally married March 7, 1964. Bill and Sally had 2 children; Diane and Warren. Bill spent 35 years teaching industrial arts at Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. Bill and Sally are members of Wurtemburg Methodist Church and he was also a 50 year member of the Ellwood-Parian Lodge No. 599 of the F&AM. Bill enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and was an avid reader. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is predeceased by two brothers-in-law; Robert Springer and Michael Shafran.
The Family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 4:00-7:00PM with additional visitation on Saturday from10:00am-11:00am. A Masonic Service will be held immediately prior to the Funeral Service which will begin at 11:00AM with Pastor Tom Litzenberg, officiating at Turner-Hyde Funeral Home in Ellwood City.
Private Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Sylvania Hills Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made in Bill’s name to the Chewton Christian Church or the Ellwood-Parian Masonic Lodge in Ellwood City.
