Nancy Jane Horton, 85, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret (Blank)Miller and was born February 1, 1940, in Ellwood City.
She is survived by her son; Terrence “T” Horton and his wife Shelley of Ellwood City, her grandchildren; Tyler Horton and his significant other Shayla Polite of Ellwood City, Abigail Buonpane and her husband Vincent of New Castle, two great-grandchildren; Ava Morella and Stella Buonpane.
Nancy was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School. She married Walter “Jim” Horton. Nancy was an elementary school teacher, and she taught over 30 years at Ewing Park, Hartman, and Perry Elementary. She was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elwood City. Nancy was also an avid bowler. Nancy was a 50 year member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ellwood City Chapter No. 212. She was a loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Walter “Jim” Horton.
Friends may call on the family on Thursday, October, 16, 2025 from 11:00am-1:00pm with an Eastern Star Funeral Service following visitation. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm at Turner-Hyde Funeral and Cremation Services-Ellwood City with Reverend Ron Schaeffer, officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Ellwood City.
