Gladys Thornton

Gladys M. Thornton, 73, of New Castle passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at AHN Allegheny Hospital in Wexford. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Eulalia (Crouch) Gawlik and she was born on September 23, 1951 in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 53 years, David E. Thornton, her daughters; Ashley Tedrow and her husband Jason of Darlington, Amanda Thornton of Seven Fields, her grandchildren; Hailey Tedrow and Mason Tedrow, of Darlington, one sister; Joann Stegall of Cranberry Twp

She was a 1969 graduate of Allegheny High School. She met and married the love of her life David Thornton and they had two daughters; Ashley and Amanda. They enjoyed traveling with their kids and family to Las Vegas, camping in the Grand Canyon and traveling to various hockey tournaments to support Amanda who played competitive hockey. Gladys loved going to casinos with her games of choice being blackjack and slots. More than anything she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
