Donald Leroy Boots, Sr. of Country Club Drive, Ellwood City transitioned to his eternal life in Heaven on September 27, 2025, surrounded by his family. Son of Theron ("Sam") and Myrtle Boots, Don was born August 6, 1933.
After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, he married Dona Louise Wilson, also of Ellwood City, with whom he recently celebrated 69 years of marriage. Don is survived by his Children: Don Boots, Jr. of Ellwood City, Carrie (Gary) Havranek of Beaver Falls, David (Michelle) Boots of Lincoln City, OR, and Christie (Ed) McDonough of Evans City. For most of his life, in addition to working at Halstead-Mitchell (Zelienople) and Standard Horse Nail Corp (New Brighton), Don served hundreds of area residents in home repair, remodeling and renovation, and for many years served his community through driving for the Meals on Wheels program. He enjoyed spending time in his wood shop making furniture and gifts for countless individuals and organizations. To spend any time with Don was to experience firsthand the joy that his relationship with God brought to his life. His wisdom, humor and light-hearted spirit left a firm imprint on many who had the privilege of knowing him during his time on earth, and in his recent years he spoke often of his gratitude to God for "a wonderful life here, and being ready to meet the Lord face to face any time He calls me." Don and Dona have been lifelong members of the Ellwood City Church of God.
The family will have a private Celebration of Don's life.
