Betty J Gerritsen

Betty Gerritsen, 92, of Ellwood City and formerly of Modesto, CA passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at her home. She was the daughter of the late John and Jessie (Chastain) Stout and was born July 9, 1934 in Longview, TX.

She is survived by her daughter; Vivian Wright of Ellwood City, her sons; Joseph Snyder, John Snyder, and Michael Snyder and her 5 grandchildren,5 great-greatchildren and one brother; Allan Stout.

Betty was born in Longview, TX and moved to California where she raised her family. She enjoyed gambling, and golf. She was also an avid bowler and bowled a perfect game of 300, when she was 80. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Jan Gerritsen and her 5 brothers.

To honor Betty’s wishes, there will be no services.

In Betty’s honor, the family is asking for donations to be made in her name to the American Cancer Society at American Cancer Society.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to the TURNER-HYDE FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City.
